Supplementing broccoli with light

In creating GROW with a focus on lighting broccoli, Bilberry has been leveraging high scientific and educational potential from the very beginning. The collaboration of our R&D CENTER with scientists from renowned institutions such as the Institute of Plant Breeding and Acclimatization of the Polish Research Institute and the Leibniz Institute of Biochemistry, as well as with companies involved in vegetable production, such as the Krasoń Seedling Producers Group, creates favorable conditions for continuously testing the effectiveness of our broccoli lighting technology using proprietary, energy-efficient LED fixtures.

The goal we have achieved together is a well-thought-out spectrum base of the GROW lamp, designed for the most efficient growth of specific species and stages of plant development.

As a result of extensive research, we have tested the effects of 40 spectra on over 160 plants so far. Most of the fixtures currently available on the market emit light with a predominance of blue and red colors, which correspond to the peaks of chlorophyll absorption, but do not take into account other pigments and photoreceptors.

The main advantage of GROW is that its spectra cover the full range of wavelengths. The light spectra have been carefully composed by us to enhance the lighting of broccoli, clearly improving the quality and size of the yields.

Lighting created for broccoli

Discover GROW by Bilberry with a spectrum ideal for home lighting of broccoli. The use of LED technology means faster plant growth, as well as lower energy and water consumption compared to sodium lamps.

GROW, designed for illuminating broccoli, provides a full spectrum of photosynthetically active radiation. The best ratio of red to blue light ensures the compactness of broccoli and effective photosynthesis. Based on the latest research findings, we also made sure that GROW emits green light, as it supports the action of blue light.

Supplemental lighting for broccoli GROW increases the number of leaves, which means a larger photosynthetic surface area. It also generates increases in stem diameter, enhancing yield efficiency.
